lessons are not just half hours of time you pay fo while some one teaches you. lessons come in many forms in life in general. when your a musician and your developing, you have lessons coming at you from all levals, weather or not you choose to except them. it dosent hurt to take a few sit down traditional lesson if not have a total mentor spending hours of lessons with a open minded caring friend. alot of times you find that they show somthing that you didnt know about, opening new doors of exploration. friends and band members help you grow. just getting out and jamming with others for fun comes with good lessons. going out to see other performances and shows are educational. all the music you listen to and enjoy, that influences you. thing is tho, if your an artist, yeah, all the hours of lessons and watching and listening and reading and feeling arent going to enable you to come across on the stage. you can be the best guitar player technique wise and i dont want you in my band unless you know how to use guitar with soul. sure i like being able to know my fret board, though for me its all about the soul power. being able to bring out your soul your emotion your heart in the music, moveing touching affecting conecting , conducting and useing the energy of the universe through your body and focus it, reflecting it off your instrument and out, to bounce or absorb or just outover the horizon against the sun or moon. having umph and spraz make some one smile seduce and cut loose. and thats somthing that is who you are whats inside and how you bring it out. with what ever chords your fingering or figureing. the same chord could be played with many types of feeling, and sound different from each other. i herd tristen on the local 94/9.
