- Where am I?
- If you don't know what message board this is, you may be at the wrong place. This is the official Tristan Prettyman message board, Softly Before I Scream.

- What is Softly Before I Scream?
- It's one of Tristan's songs. It is more commonly called Breathe (Softly Before I Scream). It was also at one point mistaken by the creator of this FAQ as "Softly Before Ice Cream." While that title doesn't make much sense, ice cream is delicious, particularly mint chocolate chip.

- What are the rules around here?
- Rules suck. As long as you keep threads in the right spots and don't start a new thread when one already exists, it's all good. And, by the way, people who register just to spam us are not welcome and your thread will just be closed. Otherwise, just spread the love and enjoy the glowing nature that is your computer monitor.

- Who is running this place?
- The same person writing this FAQ, Andrew (Ortrules).

- Why is there only one person running the board?
- Because he's an evil and greedy bastard who wants to keep all the glory of being the "all mighty" admin/moderator of the Tristan Prettyman message board. Seriously.

- How can I become a moderator?
- There has always been a slight demand within myself to get another person to help run the board, but because of the common lack of posting, it's unnecessary. If you'd like to be a moderator, bring everyone you know to the board, help make it the most popular message board ever…and you got it.

- Why was my thread edited?
- Edited threads rarely happen. The only time threads are really edited is to change a subject. Some people have a tendency to write really poor subjects, and nobody knows what the thread is about because of it. So on those rare occasions, the thread will be edited.

- What happened to my thread?
- More likely than not, it was moved to another forum in the message board. There may be a thread or two created in the wrong forum, and it is moved to the correct forum. Your thread may have also been merged with another thread that talks about the same thing.

- Why was my thread closed?
- It was stupid.

- What qualifies as a stupid or bad thread?
- It's really a common sense thing. Just remember this, more pointless threads that leave no room for discussion equals more used bandwidth. More used bandwidth equals higher cost to keep this board running smooth.

- I heard about this song "Smitten Like a Kitten," what is that?
- That song was created right here on this very message board. Tristan wanted to write a funny song and so she asked people on the board to write a song. Basically, Tristan started with a line and then someone continued the song with another line. The thread used to be encased in our Archive forum, until EZBoard was attacked one day and that forum was taken away from us. But do not let your tears flow with sadness, just remember the joy that song brought.

- How do I get a cool tag like others have?
- There is a thread in the Non Tristan Prettyman Discussion forum stickied to the top titled "Customize Your User Title" Go to that thread and post what you want. Eventually magical creatures will seem to change your user title with the mumbling of a few key words and the flick of a wrist. And when those creatures fail, I throw them away, order new ones and change your user title for you while I wait for my shipment.

- What's with that thing after your name?
- It started a long time ago at this board, and ever since then I've tried oh so desperately hard to keep it going with new material. Sometimes it's relevant and funny, sometimes plain stupid, and sometimes completely random. That's just the joy of it, what will happen next?
